Skin tags, also known as acrochordid, are benign growths that tend to occur in folds or areas where skin frequently rubs against other skin or clothing, such as: eyelids, neck, armpits, groin region, and under the breasts. Although skin tags are not cause for concern, they are usually removed for cosmetic purposes. Removing a skin tag at home is not normally recommended, due to a risk of bleeding and possible infection.
